Terms of Service

Last updated: April 2026

1. About Fieldnote

Fieldnote is operated as a sole proprietorship offering native iOS health tracking apps distributed through the Apple App Store. By downloading or using any Fieldnote app, you agree to these terms.

2. License

The Fieldnote apps are licensed, not sold, to you for use under Apple’s standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement (EULA), in addition to these terms. Your licence is personal and non-transferable, for use on Apple devices that you own or control as permitted by the App Store Terms of Service.

Where an app offers in-app purchases, those purchases are processed and managed by Apple through your Apple ID. Pricing, billing, and refunds for any in-app purchase are handled by Apple under its terms.

3. Apps provided as-is

Fieldnote apps are provided as-is, without warranty of any kind, express or implied. This includes, but is not limited to, warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

We make no representations about the accuracy, reliability, completeness, or suitability of any app for any use. Features and functionality may change. We do not guarantee that the software will be error-free or uninterrupted.

Any payments for in-app purchases are handled by Apple. Refunds for App Store transactions are managed by Apple in accordance with its policies and applicable consumer protection law.

4. Important medical disclaimer

Fieldnote apps are not medical devices. They do not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.

The apps are designed to help you organise personal health observations and prepare for conversations with healthcare professionals. They are not a substitute for professional medical judgement, diagnosis, or treatment.

Always consult a qualified healthcare provider — a doctor, specialist, or other licensed clinician — before making any health, dietary, or medical decisions. Do not delay or disregard seeking professional medical advice based on anything logged or generated by a Fieldnote product.

If you are experiencing a medical emergency, call your local emergency services immediately. Do not use a Fieldnote app in an emergency situation.

We are not liable for any health outcomes, decisions, or actions taken or not taken based on your use of our apps.

5. Data and privacy

All data you enter into Fieldnote apps is stored locally on your device. We do not have access to this data. We cannot recover it if lost.

You are solely responsible for backing up your data. Export backups regularly using the export function provided in each app.

See our Privacy Policy for full details on how we handle data on the fieldnote.health website.

6. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Fieldnote and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of profits, or damages arising from your use or inability to use any app.

Our total liability to you for any claim arising from your use of our apps shall not exceed the amount, if any, you paid to Apple for the app in question.

7. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of any Fieldnote app after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised terms. We will update the date at the top of this page when changes are made.
